Trainee Workshop/Fleet Administrator

 We have a vacancy within our HGV workshop for a Trainee Workshop/Fleet Administrator. This is an entry-level role and an ideal opportunity for a motivated individual seeking to start their career in a transport related environment. Full training will be provided. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping keep our Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) fleet safe, compliant and ready for the road.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn how to support the Workshop Manager with daily planning and workshop administration.
  • Assist with record-keeping, spreadsheets, data entry, filing, and general office administration.
  • Help update technician job cards and workshop records accurately.
  • Support the booking of MOTs, vehicle services, and routine maintenance once trained.
  • Learn how to use the fleet management system to record vehicle defects, tyre information, and other fleet data.
  • Assist with coordinating vehicle breakdown information and passing updates to the relevant team members.
  • Support general vehicle administration and help keep records up to date.
  • Learn about HGV fleet compliance, company procedures, and industry requirements as part of your training.
  • Work closely with the workshop, transport, and administration teams to support vehicle availability and scheduling.

Person Specification

  • Highly organised, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Reliable and punctual with a can-do mindset.
  • Positive attitude with a genuine interest in the transport industry with a particular interest in HGVs.
