The Recycling Process and Waste Management

Recycling SymbolConservation and ‘eco management’ are a vital aspect of our operating philosophy. P B Donoghue, in partnership with the Environment Agency, are committed to managing the environment by the efficiencies afforded by recycling.

The Process:
All waste is weighed on our weighbridge and then taken to our waste transfer & recycling centres. The collating and sorting process separates Paper, Cardboard, Plastics, Metals, Builders Materials, etc. Soils, Inert & heavy materials are put through a trommell to separate the soil, concrete & brick. The concrete and brick is transferred onto a picking station where a final sorting process is implemented. Our brick hardcore is cleaned and offered for re-use. Concrete material is crushed into grades and our soils are transformed back into top soil. Paper & cardboard, scrap /metals, timber and plasterboard are all recycled. The remainder of waste is taken and disposed at a Registered Landfill Site.
